Another successful save in Cabo this past weekend as a young,
20 year old male, US tourist was saved from drowning on San Pedrito beach.
The young man was spotted 150m from the shore and was
clearly having difficulties swimming back to the beach.
The rescue authorities were alerted and prior to their arrival
two local surfers went out on their boards to assist him. He was visibly exhausted
after fighting the currents and was struggling to even stay afloat.
Luckily the young man was delivered safely back to the shore
where, once recovered, he thanked all those who were involved in his rescue – the
surfers, local police, and fire and rescue
team.
San Pedrito is one of Cabo’s less touristy beaches, and
is very popular with surfers. Fortunately people were on hand to help in this instance.
But it could so easily have turned out differently.
Please - be aware of the strong currents on many of Cabo’s
beaches, pay attention to all warnings, and do not go swimming alone.
