Fiestas

12 - Todos Santos Fair and Festival: Event held in Todos Santos. October 12 is the date of the festival of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the patron saint of Todos Santos. This date is celebrated as the founding of the town of Todos Santos. There are usually activities, including a fair and live music in the plaza, most of the week of the 12th. There is dancing to live music in the evenings on the zocalo. And lots of food and drink!

12 - Día de la Raza: This day also celebrates Columbus' arrival to the Americas, and the historical origins of the Mexican mestizo race which blended the Spanish and the indigenous.

18 - Fiesta de Cabo San Lucas: A festival which celebrates the patron saint of Cabo San Lucas. Every October 18th, streets are closed off downtown for a parade. The festival features dancing, music and food vendors.

Surfing (Sea of Cortez)

Swell from the South comes in during the summer months

Partying

Cabo's nightlife is at its fullest during Spring Break (March) and around New Year’s Eve. But you can find good party ambience during all the high season months. During October we have Sammy Hagar’s Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo and the infamous Pimp’n’Ho Ball in The Pink Kitty Niteclub.

Whale Watching

Gray whales travel 10,000-12,000 miles round trip every year between their winter calving lagoons in the warm waters of Mexico and their summer feeding grounds in the cold Arctic seas. October is probably the first month for seeing these magnificent animals until it all ends in the spring. Take a look at our section on whale watching to find out what species you can see around Los Cabos.

Fishing

Fishing in Cabo is good all year round. It all depends on what type of fish you’re looking to catch or whether you are looking to participate in a tournament. Check out our Sportfishing article to see the season chart for fish and tournaments.

Yellowfin tuna are usually the main target species at this time however it is also the big marlin tournament months so trophy Blue marlin are still in the area. Sailfish and dorado are also on the menu as are the ever present Striped marlin.

You can do research for your trip on iTravel-Cabo.com by reading past Cabo fishing reports for January.
