The world day of Energy Efficiency
was a good one for Cabo Villas Resort Spa as it was awarded the UNE-ISO 50001 green
flag for energy efficiency for the third year in a row. Only 6 hotels in the
world have achieved this energy efficiency standard – and Cabo Villas is the
only one in Latin America.
Reaching the UNE-ISO 50001 green
flag standard means that an organisation has established an energy management
system that follows a systematic approach to achieving continual improvement of
energy performance by reducing energy use, energy cost and greenhouse gas
emissions.
Simply put the green flag
standard indicates that an organization has made a serious environmental
commitment. And this is very important for Cabo.
Chris Erickson, the investor of Cabo Villas, said “it is very easy to forget the importance of being friendly
to the environment, and it doesn’t always sit well with accountants and
financial statements, or in questions of investment. But in it’s heart, and
based on what is right, this company has committed to this high ISO standard because
Cabo San Lucas is a destination committed to the environment”.
