Cruise ship passengers have rated the port of Cabo San
Lucas with a satisfaction score of 9.7.
Over a 6 month period the Autonomous University of Baja
California, interviewed thousands of passengers as they arrived in Cabo. And
the results are very clear. In terms of safety, quality and range of services, passengers consistently rated
Cabo as the best port on their pacific route.
Cruise ships are big business for Cabo and service
providers are very keen to offer a high level of service and commitment - to the passengers and the shipping companies.
Ships arrive all year in Cabo - but December to May is the
high season. And this year has been crazy so
far. A double arrival on New Years’ Day, was followed by a quadrupal arrival on
Jan 03, bringing over 10 000 passengers ashore in
just one day!
And it’s not just Cabo that is popular with cruises. Interest
is also growing in La Paz and Loreto. Yesterday saw the first arrival of the
year in La Paz with Princess Cruises bringing in two ships, and almost 4000
passengers. And one Princess liner docked in Loretto resulting in over 2000
visitors.
The wide range of offerings in all three towns – great natural
beauty, fishing, golf, eco tourism, gastronomic delights of all sorts, luxury hotels
and living, local arts and culture - are
hugely attractive to cruise ship passengers.
Héctor Montaño Cota, Manager of Post of Cabo san Lucas, says
everyone is keen to strengthen even further the appeal of Cabo and BCS in
generall - "The qualifying score
passengers are giving us at the moment is nine point seven. We intend to work
even harder and reach 10 in 2017”.
