Hi there.
The itravel-cabo news team is back.
We hope you
all had a great Christmas break and are looking forward to a good 2017. We certainly
are.
We will be bringing
you lots of upto date info on what is happening in and around Cabo in all the months
to come.
But first, a
quick recap on what has been happening in Cabo over the last few weeks.
Festive fun
can always be found in Cabo. And this year was no exception. Hotels and time shares
were full to bursting point with occupancy at 95%. Cruise ship season has been
crazy with a quadrupal arrival on Jan 03, bringing over 10 000 passengers ashore in just one day!
New Year
parties were plentiful - from wild rock and roll gigs in Cabo Wabo, to legendary themed events at Casa Dorada, or spectacular firework displays on Medano beach.
Hotels, restaurants,
police and municipal teams worked really hard to provide great service, safe
streets and clean beaches for everyone.
Local search
and rescue teams were busy saving lives on beaches. And on cruise ships –
successfully delivering an elderly unwell passenger to hospital.
Whales were
being saved too – as RABEN successfully freed an adult humpback whale that was
entangled in a mesh gill fishing net.
Fishing was
busy but, sadly, there weren’t too many fish around over Christmas. Fortunately
our fishing buddies tell us that thing have been picking up this last week. Check
out their recent fishing reports here.
And in
amongst all the activity that high season always brings – there are a few more awards
and accolades to add to Cabo’s growing list.
1. SECTUR has
just confirmed Cabo was the third most visited destination in Mexico in 2016.
2. The
Hollywood Reporter selects Cabo as the 6th most popular A-list
celebrity getaway. Paparazzi pics out of Cabo these holidays show Leonardo di
Caprio with model girlfriend Nina Agdal; and singer Ashly Simpson with husband Evan Ross - son of Diana Ross.
3. Mexico Desconocido – ranks no less than 3 of Cabo’s courses in their “Top 5 Golf Courses in Mexico” – Diamante Dunes, One
& Only Palmilla, and the Ocean Course in Cabo del Sol.
All seems like
a pretty good way for Cabo to start 2017. So, if you
haven’t yet made it down here to Cabo– NOW is the time!
