I can recall a few competitive races in Cabo over the years. Every once in a rare while the local police would partially close the highway and a handful of number-clad racers would slow down traffic on the fourlane. It seems that happened once every couple of years, but if you weren’t out and about on the morning of the race, you likely never even noticed. Nowadays it seems that every few months there is another race, and these races attract more and more runners each time. Now not only is Cabo an attractive place to spend a week lounging on...

In about a week, the Cabo San Lucas bay will suddenly be a lot more crowded than normal. Sailboat after sailboat will cruise past Land’s End, glide into the bay and gather just out from the golden sands of Medano Beach looking for a spot to drop anchor. Many boats will flock to the waters by the arroyo because of the ease of anchoring there, but there will be so many boats that they will line up all along the beach, in front of all the resorts from the arroyo to the beach restaurants. Then the sailors will make their way...

Late October and early November mark the start of high season in Los Cabos, and this year, there is much to look forward to in San Jose del Cabo. What many visitors to Cabo are unaware of is that San Lucas is one of--if not the very youngest city in the world. A population that did not begin to establish itself and grow until late in the 1960's and mid-1970's.
San Jose del Cabo meanwhile, was first colonized as a mission by the Spaniards in 1730, as a means to quell the pirate raids that were disrupting their exploration of the Americas....
