Last Saturday a 7-year-old-girl was enjoying a walk on Palmilla beach with her grandma when, surprised by the strong swell, she was dragged to sea by waves.
Fortunately, other beachgoers were at hand able to offer assistance until the authorities arrived. Paramedics and lifeguards provided the necessary first aid, and the girl was then taken to a city hospital. Luckily, the incident caused her no major harm or injury.
There is no doubt that Cabo’s beaches are breathtakingly beautiful. And it is very tempting to jump in for a swim wherever you are. But please remember, there are very strong swells. And potentially life-threatening currents.
Local search and rescue teams do a great job of keeping everyone safe. Just watch out for "No Swimming" signs, and pay attention to any wind or weather warnings. The port authorities will not hesitate to suspend all water activities if winds are too high.
