Following on from our preview article last Friday, the San
Jose Jazz weekend was a great success with almost 5000 visitors and fabulous
local and international musicians.
Tito Rodriguez did a great job as musical director creating
a varied international programme including jazz funk, flamenco jazz,
contemporary and European Jazz as well as local Mexican jazz.
The event was promoted via social networks and attracted loads of American visitors – amounting to about 80% of total
attendees. The festival was supported by Los Cabos Tourist Board, the National
Fund for Tourism, and the City of Los Cabos and Hotel Association. All three organisations hope to establish the Jazz Weekend as a major tourist attraction.
And with reports of the airport packed with commercial and
private flights, busy hotels and full restaurants it looks like the San Jose Jazz
Weekend is set to continue its success.
