Looks lie Cabo
is bursting at the seams.
SECTUR has
just confirmed Cabo as the third most popular destination in the Mexico, with
hotel occupancy at a record 95% over the new year break.
2016 saw a
steady rise in passenger numbers – with new
world class restaurants, luxury hotels and real estate, and major sporting and
cultural events all adding to the attractions for visitors.
Throw in a
few new airlines, plus several new national and international routes to Cabo
over the past year, and the case for an expanded airport seems pretty clear...
Sebastián
Romo Carrillo, Director of Passengers, has today confirmed that 2017 will be the year for major change and
expansion at the international airport of Cabo San Lucas.
In order to
avoid saturation, and meet the growing demand for tourism he insists the expansion
of the runway and the addition of a
bigger passenger terminal was crucial. These new developments mean the airport will
be able to accommodate more and bigger aircraft, plus serve up to as many as
820 000 passengers
Building is
already underway, and he is confident the work will be completed by the end of
the year.
