The Mayor of Loreto yesterday announced
that Loreto’s beaches passed all environmental and health checks and are in
pristine condition to welcome visitors for the Easter holidays. The recent
tests detected no risks to humans, flora or fauna.
Beautiful and more secluded than
some of Cabo’s bigger beaches, the Loreto beaches are a big pull for tourists
and are expected to attract thousands of visitors over the Easter break. A clean
bill of environmental health will be a big help, and is another sign that the
ravages of hurricane Odile are a thing of the past.
The Mayor believes that the next
step in promoting Loreto’s beaches is to earn blue flag status -" It would
be a pleasure for us as a municipality to have an international Blue Flag certification,
and position Loreto as clean and safe destination to visit,” he said.
Earning blue flag status would bring
them up to par with Palmilla, Chileno and Santa Maria beaches - all of which have
all recently been re awarded blue flag status.
