Hurricane Vance has strengthened a little over night with
maximum winds of 105mph. The forecast is for it to weaken later today however
and to become a Tropical storm tomorrow and by Wednesday to weaken further to a
depression.
The swing to the north east is forecast now to be more
pronounced and with any luck there may be no issues for Los Cabos: although
some of the weather cone predictions show a slight coverage of Los Cabos, in real
terms this represents a minimal risk with a 95% chance of there being no significant
impact other than the cloud we are seeing this morning and perhaps some rain.
After Odile we’ll take those odds!
The biggest problem will likely be surf and swells which
will start to come in during tomorrow and Wednesday – just in time for the
start of the Tuna Jackpot.
It remains to be seen what, if any, impact that will have on
this important annual event.
