Around 360 competitors are expected from across Baja
Califormia Sur to compete in the Los Cabos National Surfing Competiton.
The 5 day event will take place between the 14-18
September. Three beaches will be hosting the championships - Costa Azul, La Roca and La Bocana.
The president of the Association of Surfing in Baja
California Sur, José Alfredo Rendon Medina, is delighted that Los Cabos is
hosting this inauguaral event. And believes it is the perfect location.
Cabo has a great track record in running major international
surfing competitions – namely the Cabo Surf Open for the last four years. And with all the great facilities – hotels, restaurants,
nightlife and loads of other sporting activities organised – hopefully this new event will become an annual fixture
on Cabo’s sporting calendar.
The Minister of Tourism says the new surfing competition,
which follows the recent Abierta de Tenis, is yet another opportunity to
promote sports tourism in Cabo.
Winners of the competition will go on the represent Baja
California Sur in the next World Surfing Games.
