Proud winners of the first Danzante
Dorado Tournament, local team Mijitos, received their prize at a special closing
event.
Sponsored by Villa del Mar the
awards ceremony was conducted by Paul Moreno, Vice President of Operations
Villa Group. First prize comprised $5000.00, a round of golf, plus a 4 night
stay at Villa del Palmar.
The three day event kicked off last
Thursday with a round of golf in El Danzante Bay Golf Club’s new course. Next on the agenda were two spectacular days
of fishing, offering participants the chance to hook a mighty Dorado, or mahi
mahi. The winners were decided on a points basis.
As the first event to combine golf and fishing in the
spectacular islands of Loreto it is hoped to be the first event of many.
And being the Dorado capital of the world, with
a spectacular new golf course, world class beaches, and the sumptuous surroundings
of Villa del Palmar - it is hard to imagine that the tournament won't become very popular, very
quickly.
