Violence is not frightening US citizens out of Cabo

Date Published:

US Consulate General media co-ordinator, Lorena Blanco, says violence is not frightening Americans  out of Baja California Sur…

The media coordinator of the US Consulate General in Tijuana, Lorena Blanco, stated at a Press Conference in La Paz, that that are no records of American citizens leaving BCS due to recent increase in violence over the last few months.

BCS is home to approx. 250 000 US citizens. And according to Lorena Blanco, their main complaint about living in Mexico is the way in which hospital and ambulance services often extort them. Forcing them to pay excessive medical charges.

Several hospitals in the Los Cabos area have been heavily criticised in recent years for exactly this.  In response, the US Consulate in Mexico removed these hospitals from their recommended lists in April 2016. So, it is definitely worth checking before you make a trip to Cabo.
