Tropical Storm Lowell

Date Published:

Tropical Storm Lowell Forms to the West of Baja

Tropical Storm Lowell is currently 740 miles to the west of Cabo San Lucas. Lowell is a fairly large storm with tropical storm force winds extending approximately 100 miles from its center. However, Lowell is moving steadily to the northwest and the National Hurricane Center does not predict a change in the storm track. Tropical storm Lowell will not affect the Baja Peninsula or Cabo San Lucas.

However, according to the National Meteorological Service of Mexico, there remains a potential for strong rains and electrical storms in Baja Sur due to interaction with a low pressure system in the northwestern region of Mexico.
