Tropical Storm Andres, the first of the 2015 hurricane season, has formed in the Eastern Pacific. There is no risk to Los Cabos as it has formed too far west and south.
At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Andres was located near latitude 12.0 North, longitude 113.9 West. Andres is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h).
A northwestward motion at a slightly slower forward speed is expected to begin later today and continue through Saturday night.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Andres is expected to become a hurricane later today.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center.
