Last week we reported on the new
CAPTA building that is just about to open its doors in Cabo.
Located at the Marina, the Centre of Attention and Protection for Tourists
will be a one-stop shop to provide tourists with all sorts of help and information should they get into any
kind of difficulty while they are here in Cabo.
Support will
be available 24/7, 365 days a year. With
permanent guards, and 24-hour telephone service. All designed to make tourists
feel as safe and secure as possible.
A whole range of services will be
conveniently located in the one building. Services confirmed so far will
include: Attorney General's Office of
Justice-PGJE, Municipal Tourist Police,
Profeco, Federal Police, Gendarmerie, Port Captaincy, Federal Police, Civil Protection.
Final arrangements are also being
made with the Ángeles Verdes (Green Angels) – who provide car breakdown services. And the office for Fiscal Execution – which deals with any complaints of bad service or
abuse from service providers.
Also in regard to security...
The general secretary of the City of Los Cabos, yesterday confirmed
that violent incidents have successfully
been reduced in March and April. But not completely eradicated. He indicated that
the three levels of government –
federal, national and state, will continue
to work together to combat violence and promote security in the Los Cabos
Region.
So right now you can expect to
see a continued deployment of security personnel - composed of Federal Forces, Gendarmerie,
Federal Police, State Police, Municipal
Police and Armed Forces. Don’t be alarmed. They are here to keep everyone safe.
And 99.99% of all incident have been well away from tourist areas.
