Cabo’ s Local Navy Search and Rescue Team successfully
saved a 54 year old man who was swept out to sea by strong waves at Cabos
Viudas Beach.
The surveillance team on the beach were quick to raise an
emergency alarm getting a boat, with specially trained rescue personnel, out to
the man in record time. Both teams were
part of the Operation Lifesaver 2016.
Director of ZOFEMAT,
Juan Adolfo Orci, informs swimmers that there will
be 14 permanent life guards on duty, from 8am-8pm, throughout the summer at the
main beaches - Santa Maria, Chileno,
Palmilla, Widows and the tourist corridor. Most of the resort hotels also have
lifeguards. And there are up to 170 staff engaged in surveillance, security and
cleaning programs.
It’s the middle of high season - the weather is
wonderful, and the beaches are crowded. But the groudswell and strong waves are
still here. Care and caution is needed at all times.
