Bisbee’s 36th Black and Blue Tournament drew to a close
on Friday with winning Mexican team, Quinteña, pocketing $2, 138,000 million of
the total 43million prize money.
After landing a 534 pound black marlin on day 2 their closest
competitor was US team, Titan Marine, with a 416 pound black Marlin. Third place
was taken by "Drakkar" – also Mexican, with a blue marlin of 349
pounds.
The winning 534 pound fish was heavier than anything that
has been seen for a long time. And with a total of 175 blue marlin, 9 striped
marlin, and 56 black marlin – all over 300 pounds - it is safe to say that this year’s
tournament went spectacularly well.
With 123 teams and 977 fishermen from all over the world
- including Japan, Australia,
Guatemala, Costa Rica and of course the United States and Mexico, Bisbee’s
Black and Blue is definitely something for Cabo to be proud of.
