Cabo’s beaches will be squeaky clean and back to normal before
you know it.
Zofemat (La Zona Federal Marítimo Terrestre) have a team
of 162 people involved in the clear up program. They are doing a fantastic job
and yesterday collected around 25 tons of debris left by the storms. Repair
work has also started on infrastructure like palapas and lifeguard towers.
And Palmilla, El Chileno,
and Santa Maria - Cabo’s three blue flag beaches - are reported to be 90% cleared already.
Orcie Martinez, head of Zofemat, intends that all 57
beaches will be restored in minimal time to maximum standards for everyone to
enjoy. Hopefully by this weekend. Local volunteers are also playing an important
part in the clear up process.
