Many couples want to get married somewhere close to family
or in the city where they met, but many others want to exchange their vows in
exciting locales around the world. Thanks to Google’s annual Zeitgeist report,
which curates a variety of top 10 lists for popular searches, we know that
Mexico in general, and Los Cabos in particular, are firmly in that Top Ten.

First of all it is important to mention that Cabo is the
best destination wedding location in Mexico for weather. From October to June
the sunshine is guaranteed and the temperatures are near perfect so the risk of
rain on your wedding day is close to zero. This is a huge plus!
That near guarantee of great weather means that most of the
event can be held outdoors (ceremony and reception) and this is what people
want when planning a destination wedding; they want to enjoy the ambience of
the place they have chosen and soak up the atmosphere in the sun. And when the
sun is going down, where better to get that romantic newly-wed sunset
photograph?
The big choice is the actual location and in Cabo that can
be tough as there are just so many to choose from: from breath-taking views, to
beaches, luxury yachts, exclusive resorts or private villas. Cabo has something
to offer everyone and every budget. Some of the most popular wedding locations
in town are: Sunset Da Mona Lisa for its unique view to the arch; the Pacific
beaches such as Pedregal; Pueblo Bonito; Sandos Solmar for their sunset; Cabo
del Sol for its unique golf course and club house; and all the hotels and
villas on the Sea of Cortez side for their ocean view.
Cabo based wedding planner Elsa Dilasser of Creative Destination Events is well used to dealing with the pressures and demands of
couples planning their nuptials.
“April/May/June and November are the busiest months for
weddings in Cabo,” she said. “Last year in May for example in Décor we had 13
weddings and 6 co-ordinations, in June 16 Decors. We average about 10 to 15
events a month. Already for 2015 it looks more like 15 to 20 a month average. Hair
and make-up is different and we can do up to 50 weddings a month!”
For those wishing something more private and exclusive, many
resorts offer a complete package to their clients.
“Rancho’s weddings are very unique in the fact we can accommodate
68 persons right on the beach, and it is totally private… it is barefoot
elegance and very comfortable,” said Sandra Scandiber, the in-house wedding
co-ordinator for Rancho Pescadero.
Whatever the wishes of the happy couple, Los Cabos has
something unique to offer.
