Organic Farms and Trends in Cabo

An aspect of Cabo San Lucas, not lost on the health conscious community of the United States, Canada and all European countries which visit year after year, is organic food and the restaurant and places to obtain and enjoy them during their stay. Organic farms in Los Cabos have roots that date back to the humble beginnings of this area when farming was practiced for survival by its earliest inhabitants which date back 1200 A.D. Hundreds of years before the discovery of Baja California by Spanish explorers. Organic farming methods have evolved since then, but not much. Traditional farming practices continue in this modern era and organic farms in Los Cabos are dominated by two popular families, whose small agricultural and livestock businesses include a restaurant serving these healthy foods whose demand has been steadily rising in a global, health-conscious trend. Flora Farms is undoubtedly the most popular organic field to table restaurants located in San Jose del Cabo, providing guests with healthy, fresh produce, poultry, pizza, pork, meats and fish since opening in 1996. Their organic heirloom vegetables and farm raised menu are at the heart of the restaurants popularity with locals, returning visitors and even the Hollywood jet set like movie star actor/director, George Clooney and the beautiful former supermodel, Cindy Crawford. Friday's is their family style handcrafted pasta night with Sunday being Flora's special brunch from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
