Things look ever more promising
for tourism in Los Cabos with the announcement of two new flights paths in just
one week.
Aeromexico yesterday announced a
new route between Los Cabos and Tijuana. And today Air Calafia announced the
opening of a second new route - Los Cabos to Leon.
Flights will start this Sunday and initially operate 3
times per week on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday – with a capacity of 50 seats
per flight. Frequency is expected to increase to daily flights at a later date.
Pablo Armenta, of the State
Secretariat of Tourism in Los Cabos, said “we will be working closely with the
Association of Hotels in both Los Cabo and Guanajuato to create partnerships and
promote tourism between the two states.”
Ruben Reachi Lugo, General
Director of FITURCA says as well as Leon, this new route opens access to important cities
like Celaya, Aguascalientes, and San Luis Potosí. Widening the potential for a whole
new market of visitors to Cabo and Baja California Sur.
And Governor Carlos Mendoza, sees
both new flights as significant step forward in strengthening national and
international connections to destinations in Baja California Sur.
