We all love tacos. And we all have our favorite taco bars.
Cabo has lots of contenders. But how much are you prepared for this culinary
delight?
The answer seems to be – “a huge amount”. At $25, 000,
Gran Velas Los Cabos puts the costly comestible out of reach for most of us.
Served at the resort’s fine dining gourmet restaurant,
Frida, the specialty taco is all down to the culinary imagination of executive
chef, Licerio Alcala. Who has filled the “gold flake–infused soft corn tortilla
with Kobe beef, lobster, black truffle brie cheese, and, of course, Almas
Beluga caviar.”
It’s then topped with Morita peppers, enormously expensive
Añejo tequila, and kopi luwak coffee.
Just a bit different from your usual chili sauce….
“Our ultimate goal at Grand Velas Los Cabos is to break
the mold of expected, traditional cuisine and go outside of the box for our
well-traveled guests,” says Alcala. “The taco is just the first of such
exciting experiences that we plan to roll out in the coming months.”
And if you are lucky enough to be one of these “well-travelled
guests”, why not go the whole way. For just another $150,000, you can
complement your gold flaked taco with a glass of Ley.925 Pasión Azteca Ultra-Premium
Añejo (tequila). Good thing it’s a
2-for-1 offer….
The Frida gourmet, Mexican restaurant is open every evening, from 6 pm to
11 pm. But only for residents at Gran Velas Los Cabos. Room rates start at $750 per night based on
double occupancy. You can book right here.
