Good news for all you anglers, and
all people fishy. It has been talked about for quite some time, but now it‘s official

Fishing Day “ throughout Baja California Sur.
The day will be celebrated through
the 5 municipalities of BCS, and new fishing
tournaments will be established to mark the occasion.
And just in case you were wondering this date was not chosen at random. There is, in fact, a deeper "fishing" significance....
Apparently it was on May 25, 1972 that Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish, and Dorado were officially considered by Federal Law to be exclusively for the purpose of sportfishing. So there you go....... a brand new fishing fact for all you anglers
A vital part of the annual celebrations
will also be to remind everyone of the economic importance of sportfishing for BCS.
Plus, continuing to raise awareness of the need for sustainable “catch and release”
fishing practices.
