Just as Martin Zazueta, director general of airport,
announces record figures for the first two months of the year, Air Calafia
release dates for their new route from Leon to San Jose Del Cabo.
Aimed directly at the growing domestic market, from March
Air Calafia will fly 3 times a week between Leon and San Jose del Cabo.
One of several new national and international routes that
will open in 2016, Zazueta confirms his belief that this may be the year Los
Cabo breaks the barrier of 4 million air passengers. With figures for both
January and February now higher than pre Hurricane Odile levels things for 2016
look very promising.
The planned opening of new hotels and the anticipation of
lots more domestic tourists will play a big role in breaking this 4 million passenger
barrier.
Zazueta also points to role that business and private
flights will play – “We are building a platform for business aviation to double
what we currently have and it will be ready for the summer – this is an
important market sector for Los Cabos."
