Reese Witherspoon has confirmed her attendance to the Latin
American Premier of “Wild” by Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallée, on the Opening
Gala of the Los Cabos International Film Festival.
The actress plays Cheryl Strayed ,a woman in personal crisis
who decides to hike 1,100 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail as a way to heal
herself. The performance paved the way for the Best Actress Academy Award. The
movie’s Director, Jean-Marc Vallée, also Directed “Dallas Buyers Club” which
received three Academy Awards and closed our 2013 Festival.
This year’s festival will close with the Mexican Premier of “Boyhood”,
a masterful work by American filmmaker Richard Linklater. The film was
premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, unanimously acclaimed by critics
worldwide and ranked one of the best films of the century; it is a strong
candidate to receive several Academy nominations and awards next spring.
The Los Cabos International Film Festival takes place 12-16
November and is in its third year. The event continues to grow and attract more
recognition from all sectors of the movie industry.
