If you’re a wind-surfer, kite-boarder or stand up paddle board enthusiast then the 2013 Lord of the Wind Showdown is for you! The event kicks off Saturday, January 12-16 in Los Barriles; showcasing an additional categories to their aqua related competitions, which could easily be thought of as the X-Games of the ocean. In its 3rd year, the event further solidifies itself as an adrenalin driven spectacle to rival other Southern Baja California thrill-seeking competitions. Hosted by East Cape Rotary Club, the Lord of the Wind Showdown will hold last day registration on Thursday, January 10 followed immediately by a mandatory skipper's meeting which will cover rules, event changes, racing conditions and 3 day schedule. A kite clinic on the beach with Billie Kipling, offering advice on ways to jump higher is scheduled immediately thereafter.
