Tropical Storm Hernan was upgrade to a hurricane at 3:00 PM Cabo time. Hernan is the third Pacific hurricane of the season.
Despite predictions yesterday from the National Hurricane Center that the storm would not reach hurricane status, Hernan has shown maximum suatained winds of 75 mph, classifying it as a Category 1 hurricane.
The storm will be entering colder waters on Monday when weakening is expected to begin. The storm track has not changed. Though the storm path will not bring Hernan in contact with the Baja, there remains the possibility that Cabo could see some rain from the outer bands of the storm.
