Los Cabos will be the starting point of the inaugural
"Bud Light Score Baja Sur 500" race with an expected 200 teams taking
part from all over the world.
Oscar Ramos, International Representative for Score (the race
organizers) and the Secretary of State Tourism, Ruben Reachi Lugo, announced
that the event will take place from 16 to 19 April.
They stressed that the event is of international class with
the broadcaster CBS Sports covering the entire program, plus 100 other accredited
media outlets involved including magazines, websites and specialized newspapers,
thereby promoting Los Cabos as a versatile venue for holding events of all
kinds.
Marking the first time a SCORE Baja race has been held
entirely in Baja California Sur, it will be a point-to-point race starting in
Cabo San Lucas and finishing in Loreto on the east side of the peninsula along
the Sea of Cortez, a distance of about 452 miles.
Thousands of spectators are expected to flock to Los Cabos
to see the event boosting tourist numbers.
