Concerned at the high prices demanded by some water service providers Héctor Montaño Cota, Cabo’s port authority manager, has decided to control the
amount tourists can be charged.
Adamant that Cabo is not seen to be taking advantage of
tourists with inflated prices Montaño Cota says he will impose the same tarrifs on all
water service providers.
Rates will be capped and advertised all along the marina so
tourists will know just how much they should be paying for boat trips, snorkelling,
waterskiing and any other water sports or activities.
The move has already been approved by the Port Operating
Committee and many service providers. But not everyone agrees and Montaño Cota warns
that compliance will be monitored. He intends to mount a surveillance campaign
to ensure the new regulations are met within the next quarter.
“What matters now is to provide security, good service and
quality to our visitors. And to keep them coming back”.
