The Port Authority of Cabo San Lucas stated that they expect
the total number of visits by cruise ships in 2015 to be 150 and have further confirmed
for 2016 an increase to 180 which spells good news for the local economy of Los
Cabos.
"We already have 180 spaces reserved for next year.
This is an upward trend of cruise activity, the improvement has been cruises on
the Mexican Pacific route namely Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas" said
Hector Cota Montaño, Manager API Cape San Lucas.
"We must take into account the high season is from
October to May each year, but as of this year there have been continuous visits
by Carnival to the port, which gives us great satisfaction because even though this
is hurricane season, the ships keep coming" he concluded.
