There was keen competition in
this year’s Sierra Fishing Tournament, with 133
fishermen in 39 teams.
This year’s winning team, Ninja, caught an 8.24lb Sierra to grab the 64, 000 peso prize (approx. $3.
500 US dollars). Team captain was Michael Velazquez.
But victory was by no means
easy. Team 31, Rehissa, led by Luis Moreno, came a very close second with a
catch of 8.23 pounds winning them 50, 030 pesos prize money (approx. $2,800 US dollars)
Third place went to team number
7, Tres Amigos.
The winners were announced by
the coordinator of the Sport Fishing tournament Fund for the Protection of
Marine (FONMAR), Gonzalo Camacho Alamea Resources.
