Cabo has successfully retained its position as Mexico’s third
most visited beach destination with over 400 000 visitors between January to
April this year.
Cancun came in top with 1.3 million visitors, followed
Riviera Maya with just under 1.3 million tourists. And Puerto Vallarta came in fourth with 277,000 visitors.
Figures came from the Mexican Tourist Board which has
just published results for the first quarter of 2016. And so far this year
Mexico seems to be booming - tourism has grown by 9.9 % , which is almost
double the rate worldwide. This translates to 45.8% growth if compared to the
first quarter of 2012.
There is no doubt that Mexico is now a serious destination
in world tourism. And no doubt that Cabo plays a big part in this.
