It looks like this year’s Spring
Break will set new records in Cabo as hotels report over 90% bookings with
still over 2 weeks to go before the Easter weekend.
Enrique Turcott, president of
the Hotel Association, said that these figures go hand in hand with increased
air connectivity between Los Cabos with other cities.
Although Cabo is normally
considered more of an upmarket luxury resort the majority of visitors expected
are young people on their spring break from college who are keen to party.
Turcott says that whilst lots of
fun things have been put in place for the young guests, extra security on the
beaches and in the bars have also been
put in place to make sure everything remains under a reasonable level of
control.
“Spring breakers are an
important market sector for us and represent a significant percentage of our
Easter visitors. We want them to have fun and enjoy themselves but still know
the rules of the game.”
The relevant local authorities
have been working with hoteliers to organize a safety and monitoring plan for
the Easter holidays.
