Cabo Black and Blue lands 534 pound fish on Day 2

Date Published:

Bisbees Black and Blue tournament is kicking up a storm this year with total prize money of $3.5 milliion up for grabs. And teams from 37 countries.

Wednesday morning’s 7am starting gun saw 122 boats head out on the hunt for black and blue marlin. But there were no qualifying Fish on Day 1.

And Thursday morning delivered a fish that will grab almost $2million of that prize money.  Julio Fernandez and his veteran team aboard the Quitena boated the 534-pound black marlin with Capt. Rich Hamilton at the helm.

In second place the "Drakkar" weighed in with a blue marlin of 349 pounds. And in third place "Fastball" - with a blue marlin of 304 pounds.

So let’s see what happens today, the third and final chance to land that enormous fish. Can the two leading Mexican teams hold their current position and come out on top? Fingers crossed.

We will be back with final results. But in the meantime, check out the latest news, pics, and live scores on the Tournament website .  Or get on to Facebook and see what our friends at Pisces are saying.
