Keen to develop all kinds of
tourism, especially the kind not dependant on a holiday season, Governor of BCS,
Carlos Mendoza Davis, is turning his attention to conventions and global business
meetings.
In his quest to find the best
business model for BCS, Mendoza met this week with national and international experts
in business tourism. Plans are being developed on how best to interact with the
existing infrastructure and service providers to host top quality business
events.
There is already huge potential
in the area for this type of tourism. Don’t forget the Los Cabos state of the art
International Convention Centre – a huge green facility with the biggest living
green wall in the world, and a capacity to host up to 6,400 people with 3
exhibition Halls, 7 conference rooms. Or the many luxury hotels with meeting and
conference facilities.
Mendoza intends to maximise
every opportunity for the development of business tourism. He also believes it will
help create more economic and employment stability in BCS as it is not nearly
as sensitive to seasonal fluctuations.
The doubling of the business aviation platform and extension of VIP facilities at San Jose del Cabo Airport
will also undoubtedly help.
Here’s hoping that very soon
Cabo will earn a reputation as a first class destination for international business events and not just as a hot spot for sun seeking holiday makers.
