High season is now in full swing with tourists flocking
to Cabo every day of the week. And even more at weekends.
Airport Director, Martin Pablo Zazueta Chavez, said the
average number of passengers on week days is now between nine and ten thousand.
But this increases to as much as fourteen to fifteen thousand at the weekends.
And with summer being the longest vacation period he is
fully expecting double digit growth for July and August.
Zazueta is quick to point out that “most domestic flights
are arriving and leaving full, and a growing international following to Cabo
means these growth rates are driven both by domestic and international traffic.
"
Delighted with such a busy airport, and the inevitable
effects a 20% increase in passengers will have on the local tourist industry,
he urges everyone to arrive in good time to clear airport security and keep
things running smoothly.
Although official figures won’t be released until the end
of the month, flights are around 85% occupancy at the moment. And this figure
is likely to get closer to 100% in the coming weeks.
Like we have been saying - a long, hot busy summer in the
Baja!
