An unbelievable six of USA Today’s 10 Best Mexican Beaches are to be found in Baja California Sur. Four are in Los Cabos and two in
La Paz.
In the top position was the
magical Balandra Beach, just outside La Paz. The pearl white sands of Balandra
frame a turquoise lagoon bounded by rust colored hills. It is a beautiful
natural setting and also home to the famous El Hongo. The mushroom shaped rock
that has come to symbolize La Paz in the same way The Arch does for Cabo San
Lucas.
In fifth place was Cabo Pulmo Beach,
often called “the jewel of the East Cape. Closely
followed by the very famous Lover’s Beach in sixth place.
Cabo’s Quimixto Beach took
seventh place, and the well-known Medano Beach sneaked in at number eight.
And last but by no means least,
in tenth place, was the stunning Tecolote Beach, La Paz. With fine white sands and
the breathtakingly beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez, it looks out towards
the uninhabited island of Espíritu Santo.
