The National Water Commission ( Conagua ) has warned of
heavy rains for Baja California during the Monday due to a front crossing the
country.
"Potential heavy rains of 50-75 millimeters ( mm )are
forecast in areas of Baja California Sur ," the Conagua said in its
statement.
The fourth winter storm to hit the region is expected to
produce high waves and winds of up to 70 kilometers per hour (km / h ) on the Pacific
Ocean and the Gulf of California coasts.
Most of the worst of the weather is forecast to be north of
Los Cabos but the potential for heavy rain and high winds remains throughout the
region so travellers should take care.
High winds and waves are not all bad news and many surfers
are expected to take full advantage of the higher than normal swells.
