Baby albino still in waters of BCS

Date Published:

Continued sightings of the baby alibino whale - Costalito de Sal – in the waters of BCS have been confirmed by CONANP as they continue to monitor this season’s whale population.

The baby was first spotted back at the beginning of Febriary with it’s mum – and was only about 4.5m long.

Looks like he is continuing to thrive and getting bigger by the day.

Costalito de Sal is the second sighting of an albino whale in local waters. The first was back in 2008 with the sighting of "Galón de Leche".

Huge excitement was caused with the reappearance of Galón de Leche last year, as a first-time mom. Thankfully her calf was not albino, but grey in color, making it much less vulnerable to predators.
