Today begins Cabo’s second ever Book
Fair, Felca, which is expected to attract more than 3000 attendees. The idea
behind the event is to promote authors and artists from Baja California Sur and
beyond.
Funded by local business and the
City of Los Cabos, the organisers - ISC plus volunteers - have pulled together
an impressive list of local writers including Bernardo Fernández Bef, Nora de la
Cruz, Francisco Hinojosa, and Ana Clavel. As well as a number of well know
Caribbean authors - Vico Caballero Gustavo de la Peña, Elisa Puls Lieras and
Jose Angel Riquer.
ISC co-ordinator, Sandino Gamez, said “the
event will be held at the Cultural Pavilion Republic in Cabo San Lucas and will
include literary activities, especially the exhibition and sale of books, plus
musical and theatrical performances, including dramatized readings and
storytellers”.
Felca takes place today and tomorrow
and entrance is free. Readings, activities and performances are between 10:00
to 21:00 hours. For more information see: www.culturabcs.gob.mx.
