The monitoring and surveillance
team at Bahia de Loreto National Park have proudly reported the birth of over
1000 sea turtles this season.
Monitoring of the turtles is
an integral part of a wider program for the protection and conservation of
this species that was launched a few years ago. And the birth of over 1000
turtles is a very positive indication that the turtle population in this area
in in recovery.
According to Juan Carlos, a member
of the surveillance team “all the nests this season were located, marked and
monitored, and one hundred percent of them have completed their incubation
time.”
Another fantastic achievement in
conservation in Baja California Sur.
