The fishing last week came very close to our forecast.
We
saw a very steady bite inshore and a good bill fish bite offshore. The leader
by far was the Striped Marlin.
The Striped Marlin came into the grounds and we saw boats
with multiples almost everyday last week. Inshore the bite was off just a bit
from the previous week because of high surf and tougher inshore conditions due
to an offshore hurricane that brought higher than expected surf.
Offshore action was great with Marlin, Sailfish and some
wahoo hitting the decks. From the Herradura to Golden Gate Bank we saw Malrin
swimming and actively eating our tackle. The Dorado bite continues to be slow
with very few Mahi seen in our day range. Yellowfin Tuna slowed a bit compared
to the previous weeks awesome bite with a few 10 to 12 pounders being landed
offshore.
Forecast – We expect
to see a better inshore bite now that the hurricane to our east is further away
and inshore conditions improve. We also
expect the current run of Striped Marlin and Sailfish to continue this week as
conditions and water temps are nearly perfect. Higher winds later this weekend
may slow things down a bit, but fishing should be good all week. Make sure to
scroll down and take a look at our catches and click on any photo to see the
boats the fish are being caught on!
