WEATHER: We had really great weather over the last week and we really can’t complain. We did have a few showers yesterday and some rain accumulation which we always need. Other than that it ha been really nice with sunny day’s highs hitting low 90, s and lows, I expect are dropping into the mid 60,s.
WATER: The water right outside Cabo Harbor is right around 72 to 74 degrees and actually pretty nice. Pacific side up and around the Finger Baja where it was dipping down to 69 degrees is still cold up there and it is like night and day compared to the Pacific side and the Cortez side. Cabo Bay is sitting right where cold water and warm water meet.
BILLFISH: Striped Marlin wasn’t too bad as there is still Marlin around and we are averaging about one per trip which isn’t too bad. Most are being enticed by live bait, but it seems the fish are slow to bite. They seem to also be moving all over the place from the 1150 to the Light House. The Marlin fishing is nothing great, but it is happening somewhat.
DORADO: Haven’t heard of, much Dorado being caught this past week.
WAHOO: There were some pretty nice Wahoo caught this past week, which is good news, because we haven’t heard of anything lately.
TUNA: We should start to see some Tuna start to show soon. There hasn’t been any around the last 5 weeks, but really you never know. If the water temperatures stay like this I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing them roll into the area.
INSHORE: A few Groupers and Sheephead in and around the Pedregal Rocks. There has been some Rooster fish activity, but nothing special though. There are Skip Jacks, Yellow Tail and Sierra on the Pacific side that are there and can be caught close to shore. I mean there is all kinds of fish in this area to catch and its not like we are getting skunked but it has been down compared to normal. All in All the fishing this past week has been hit and miss and we aren’t knocking them dead.
