WEATHER:
Warm days and windy conditions but mostly sunny days and hot. Well, it wasn’t
too bad over the last week with some sunny days.
WATER: A lot
of green water has moved into the area and has effected the fishing quite a
bit. We have had a lot of cold water pusing into the area and Mostly warm water
in our area now on both sides the Pacific and Sea of Cortez side. The temps I
noticed on the Tempbreak map was 82 to 88 degrees, which is pretty warm all
over. If we could get some decent weather I think the fishing would be off the
hook. Please check out the Tempbreak map link below to get a good idea on water
temperatures.
BILLFISH:
Green water and windy conditions have made it for a rough week for Marlin with
some decent days and some real bad days. It is getting better over last day or
so the Marlin fishing has improved. It has been sporadic with no one place
being hot for Marlin, they seem to be spread out all over the place from the 95
to the Old Light House. So they are here but they are spread out all over the
place from the Pacific side to Sea of Cortez side.
DORADO: The
action for Dorado has dramatically changed over the last couple days and maybe
we are going to start to see them show up again in numbers. It has been a long
time since we have had any really good Dorado activity so we are really over
due and it was nice to see over last 2 days some improvements.
SWORDFISH:
Hasn’t heard of any caught this week.
WAHOO: I did
hear of one Wahoo being caught this past week.
TUNA: The
guys are running out about 60 miles to get into any sort of Tuna action and way
to far for our sportfishers to run. There has been some decent size fish caught
if you find them and can get to them without running so far.
INSHORE: A
few boats jigging iron around the Pedregal rocks and landing some Amber Jacks
and I think the Yellowtail will start to get better in the next few days. The
Sierra fishing is getting better close to shore from Pump House to Margaita
rocks and the Panags have been killing the Sierra in front of the Solmar to the
Pump House using hootchies, striped bait and rapalas. There has been some Red
Snappers caught on live bait in the rocks on the Pacific side.
